5th and 6th Grade Reading: This week we will be doing research on Medieval times to help us better identify with the setting of our next three novels. I will divide the students into three groups and each group will be reading a novel that is set during medieval times. Our topics of study this week will be reading nonfiction and finding important information to share with the class.
Spelling/ Grammar: In grammar this week we will discuss Linking Verbs.
5th Grade Math- Chapter 10 will be ending this week! Our test is on Tuesday. We will then direct our attention to reviewing various math topics for the Iowa Basic testing.
6th Grade Math- We will work toward ending Chapter 10 this week. Our test on multiplying & dividing fractions and mixed numbers will be on Wednesday if all goes well?????
Social Studies-The Homesteaders and the Plains Wars will round out our Chapter 18 experience!!! We will finish the chapter and begin reviewing for a test.
Science: This week we with continue our study of earthquakes. The students will be challenged to build a skyscraper at least 20 inches high that can withstand a simulated earthquake. Each group member has been assigned an important job, and they will work together to reach this challenge.
Religion- This week we will continue our Lenten study: Making a Change of Heart. We will also end Chapter 7 and work on preparing for the weekly Lenten Prayer Services.
