January 11, 2010
Dear Rosemary Families:
I wish you all a very happy, healthy, and wonderful new year as we start off in 2010. I hope the holidays gave you time to enjoy your families to the fullest.
This year, as part of our Recruitment and Retention program, Rosemary School will be offering preschool screening for children 3 and 4 years old as well as screening for our incoming kindergarten students.
Screening is not required to enter preschool or kindergarten, but rather gives teachers and parents an opportunity to focus on any problem or gift a child may have. This then enables the teacher, school, and family to work together to meet the needs of the child and develop a program suited to each child.
Our initial screening date will be Friday, January 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our own preschoolers will be screened during the day and any new students will need to call to make an appointment so we can staff accordingly. Children who will be new to our school may choose to be screened January 22 or at one of our scheduled play dates.
These play dates are February 26, March 26 and May 14.
An Open House for 3, 4 and 5 year olds will be held on Thursday, April 22.
The beauty of this is that the children will have many opportunities to be in our school, meet the teachers, and get comfortable with other children before school starts. If you know anybody who has a young child ready for school, share with them the wonderful opportunities Rosemary School has to offer. Your word of mouth is the best recruitment tool we have.
Blessings,
Cathy Pohl
